Take Advantage of Fare Capping
With fare capping, you can ride more and pay less. Here’s how to get started:
- Go Mobile – Download the Transit App, purchase your ticket or pass, and keep using your QR code to board. The app tracks your rides and automatically applies fare capping, so you’ll never pay more than $3.50 a day or $50 a month.
- Go Card – Purchase a KRT Blue Card from the ticket vending machines at City Center or the KRT Main Office. Reload it as needed and keep tapping! You’ll never pay more than $3.50/day or $50/month.
- Go Cash – Add cash to your EZfare account at City Center or the KRT Main Office. When you ride using that account, fare capping keeps your costs capped at $3.50/day or $50/month.
IMPORTANT:
- Paper tickets and passes are still available, but they’re not included in the fare capping program, so you won’t get the lowest fare.
- Choose one lane and stick with it (for example, only use your app or your Blue Card). Switching between methods means fare capping won’t work properly.

Children
Children under the height of 40 inches that are riding with an adult will ride for free. Children over 40 inches in height regardless of age will be charged the normal fare.
Half-Fare Policy
Senior Citizens (age 65 and older) and Persons with Disabilities with a valid half-fare card or a valid Medicare Card may ride any KRT bus for $.75.
KAT Tickets
Punch cards are available for purchase at $15 . A one-way ride cost double the flat fare rate. To purchase these tickets you may call our dispatcher at (304)-343-0489.

For your convenience, one-way tickets and 1-day passes can be purchased on the bus with cash.

1 Day Pass
1 Day Pass – The 1 Day Pass, which is available for $3.50, allows the user unlimited rides from the time the pass is first used until 1:00 am the following day. Pass is non-transferable.
31 Day Pass
31 day Pass – The 31 Day pass, which is available for $50.00, allows the user unlimited rides from the time the pass is first used until 1:00 am on the 32nd day. Pass is non-transferable.
5 Day Pass
5 Day Pass – The 5 Day Pass, which is available for $12.50, allows the user unlimited rides from the time the pass is first used until 1:00 am on the 6th day. Pass is non-transferable.
$10 Value Pass
This pass is inserted in the farebox and the amount of your fare is deducted and the pass is returned to you with the remaining stored value listed on the back.
