KRT is soliciting proposals for a complete turnkey project to remove and replace the entire flat roof of the KRT Administration building at 1550 4th Avenue, Charleston, WV 25387. The proposed services must include, but not be limited to, the following outlined in the scope of work.

Scope of Work

The roof being replaced is a total of approximately 6,900 square feet, with three sections.  The mid-level metal awnings ethylene propylene diene terpolymer (EPDM) membrane will not be replaced.

  • All electrical disconnections for the careful work around any telemetry or equipment on the roof.
  • Remove and dispose of entire existing roof ballast, EPDM, flashing, and insulation down to the deck.
  • Repair or replace any damaged roof decking (quote time and material per hour, per sheet). These repairs must be discussed with the KRT project manager.
  • Adhere 3” ISO to concrete decking on main section, approximately 5,900 square feet.
  • Adhere an 1/8” tapered insulation system with ¼” crickets at curbs to reduce ponding between drainage points.
  • Mechanically fasten 3” ISO to metal decking on lobby portion and clock tower, approximately 1,000 square feet.
  • Mechanically fasten an 1/8” tapered insulation system with ¼” crickets at curbs to reduce ponding between drainage points to metal decking on lobby portion and clock tower.
  • Adhere 60 mil EPDM system per manufacturer specifications.
  • Fabricate and install new 24-gauge Kynar coated steel flashing, caps, etc.
  • Remove and install new 30” x 36” (rough opening) galvanized steel roof hatch.
  • Reconnect any electrical telemetry or equipment on the roof.
  • Removal and proper disposal of all project debris and complete site restoration.
  • Minimum manufacturer warranty of 20-year for labor and materials upon completion
